What is semaglutide?
Semaglutide is a GLP-1 medicine that can affect appetite, fullness, and food intake. FDA-approved products have specific indications. Compounded semaglutide is not FDA-approved and does not undergo FDA premarket review for safety, effectiveness, or quality. Results from FDA-approved products should not be assumed to apply to compounded preparations.
What does the program cost?
Magnum’s semaglutide program is $260/month for prescribed weekly doses below 2 mg, or $299.99/month for 2–2.5 mg weekly, and is self-pay; Magnum does not bill insurance for this treatment. Weekly medication and home delivery are available when prescribed. Before starting, confirm your dose, formulation, medication, supplies, delivery charges, and other plan costs with the care team. Required labs may be billed separately.
Are labs required?
Yes. Your provider determines the laboratory information needed before treatment decisions. Magnum’s custom-lab service coordinates authorized collection through Quest Diagnostics. The care team confirms your panel, collection location, costs, and whether outside results can be reviewed. Virtual appointments do not mean all lab collection happens at home.
When can I start?
Treatment begins only after the necessary evaluation and lab review, and only if prescribed. Appointment and delivery timing depend on your circumstances and current availability. If you already use a GLP-1 medicine, your provider must review your dose, tolerance, and switching timing. An evaluation does not guarantee a prescription; your provider may discuss other approaches when clinically appropriate.
What should I know about safety?
FDA-approved semaglutide is contraindicated with a personal or family history of MTC, MEN2, or a previous serious allergy to semaglutide or an ingredient. Severe gastroparesis, pregnancy, breastfeeding, medications, and other conditions need provider review. Contact your provider about persistent or worsening side effects; seek urgent care for severe abdominal pain, inability to keep fluids down, or a serious allergic reaction. Can I cancel?
Magnum’s policy allows cancellation of month-to-month care before renewal; program-specific minimum or prepaid commitments may apply. Review your agreement and the billing and cancellation policy. Contact the care team to confirm your renewal date and terms before making changes.
