Testosterone replacement therapy may be considered for men whose symptoms and laboratory findings support testosterone deficiency. Your provider reviews your history, medications, risks and goals before deciding whether treatment is appropriate. Age or symptoms alone are not enough.
What does testosterone replacement therapy cost, and what is included?
The standard program is $180 per month when treatment is prescribed. It includes medication, shipping, injection supplies, follow-up visits, follow-up labs and monitoring. The initial lab panel costs $200 separately. Services outside the standard program may cost extra.
How do the evaluation and lab testing work?
Start with an intake and telehealth consultation, then complete the required testing. Your provider considers symptoms, history, medications and lab results together. Low morning testosterone results are commonly checked again. Completing testing or an evaluation does not guarantee a prescription.
Can testosterone replacement therapy affect fertility?
Testosterone replacement therapy can suppress sperm production and affect fertility. Discuss plans for biological children with your provider before treatment. Other approaches may be considered when appropriate. Fertility recovery varies, and testosterone replacement therapy should not be used as contraception.
What risks and monitoring should I understand?
Testosterone replacement therapy can cause side effects such as acne, fluid retention, higher blood pressure, elevated hematocrit and injection reactions. Magnum Health is self-pay and does not bill insurance for testosterone replacement therapy. Eligible HSA/FSA payment methods are accepted; confirm expense eligibility and any required documentation with your plan administrator.
